Our wonderful UbiSim customer, Kelly Foltz-Ramos, Assistant Professor and Director of Simulation and Innovation in the School of Nursing at the University at Buffalo, was interviewed by senior reporter Maki Becker of WKBW 7 News. We’re so proud to see our immersive VR platform for nursing simulation featured in a powerful news segment that highlighted how Dr. Foltz-Ramos is using UbiSim to prepare nursing students for the real-world challenges they’ll face at the bedside.
In the video, viewers get a glimpse into how the School of Nursing at the University at Buffalo has integrated UbiSim’s cutting-edge VR simulations into its curriculum to prepare students to respond under pressure, communicate effectively with patients and team members, and practice clinical skills in a safe, repeatable environment.
Nursing student Daliana Rivera told WKBW’s Becker, “It's such a great way to be able to think critically and adapt like we would in real life but in a safe scenario. We're able to make mistakes and immediately after our scenario we're able to get feedback. And it's great for growth. I feel like I've grown a lot during these scenarios.”
Dr. Foltz-Ramos said that these scenarios aren't just about checking off skills - they’re about helping students learn how to think like nurses. And that’s exactly our goal at UbiSim. We’re here to bridge the gap between theory and practice by providing highly realistic, emotionally engaging scenarios that increase nurse readiness.
We’re honored to support Dr. Foltz-Ramos as she shapes the next generation of compassionate, confident nurses - and thrilled to see their journey recognized in the spotlight.
